Chia Overnight Oats

Deliciouse breakfast and portable snack!


RECIPE | Chia Overnight Oats


AGE | 8+ months (when baby has already been introduced to almonds and greek yogurt before)


I love this recipe because it saves a lot of time in the morning. And it won’t give our little girl too much time to come up with all her ideas about what she wants while I prepare her breakfast ;) This is also a great portable snack and will not spike your or your kid's blood sugar.


INGREDIENTS

1/4 cup (32g) old-fashioned oats

2 tbsp chia seeds

1 tbsp grated apples

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla extract (check for no alcohol)

3/4 cup of almond milk

1 tbsp greek yogurt (optional)

Berries for garnish (optional)


PREPARATION

- Add oats, chia seeds, grated apples, and almond milk into a jar and stir well

- Put the lid on and give it a shake before letting it sit in the fridge overnight (at least 3h)

- Take it out of the fridge and top it with some greek yogurt and berries (optional)



Note for optional health: I recommend gluten-free, soaked, and soured oats - for young babies if possible. When choosing any milk alternatives, always check the label for unnecessary additives, added sugar, or highly inflammatory seeds/vegetable oils.
